Admissions
We are currently accepting applications for the 2008-2009 academic year. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Please see The Graduate School website for general information about graduate study at Northwestern. See their guidelines for the admissions standards.
How to apply
The following items must be submitted for admission to the MS-EDI program:
- Online application form completed, including the Statement of Purpose and resume. The program code for the MS EDI program is E23MS.
- Official scores for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test (verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing). Results must be sent directly from ETS to The Graduate School at Northwestern University (institutional code 1565).
- Two letters of recommendation, submitted online or through the mail. Email addresses must be provided in the online application for recommenders submitting electronically.
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, sent through the mail to the address below.
In addition, we strongly encourage applicants to arrange a campus visit and meet with one of the directors to review the program structure and discuss personal goals.
Applicants whose native language is not English must also supply scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Please see The Graduate School website for more information about taking the TOEFL/IELTS.
Supporting application materials (letters of recommendation, if applicable, and transcripts) should be sent to:
MS Engineering Design and Innovation Program
Attn: Kim Hoffmann
2133 Sheridan Road, G321
Northwestern University
Evanston IL 60208, USA.
Applications must be submitted before July 15, 2008 and will be reviewed on a rolling basis until that date. Because of the limited number of spaces available, we strongly encourage applicants to submit their applications well before the deadline.
Applications decisions will be available online soon after your application packet is complete. View admissions decisions online.
We do not offer fellowships, scholarships or grants for students in the MS-EDI program at this time. Please see the Graduate School website for information on how to apply for student loans.
We are not accepting applications for non-degree seeking students at this time.
