Segal Design Institute

The Master of Science Program in Engineering Design and Innovation (MS-EDI) introduces engineers to design thinking, a process of user observation, visualization and rapid iteration.

EDI is a 1-year, full-time program intended for recent engineering graduates. Students learn how to solve design problems in ways that meet the needs of people and the demands of business. The hallmark of the EDI program is a human-centered approach to engineering design.

Graduates of the program will be prepared to collaborate effectively on teams with designers, engineers, and marketing to create effective products and services.

The EDI program is part of the Segal Design Institute at the McCormick School of Engineering. The MS-EDI degree is conferred through The Graduate School of Northwestern.
